The Nigeria 100 Naira Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria in 2014 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Nigeria as single united nation. On its obverse is a portrait of a former Premier of Western Region, Chief Abafemi Awolowo. The obverse also features several coconuts,a manilla in green-to-purple SPARK and a cotton boll. The reverse of the note depicts five Nigerians in native costumes playing musical instruments and carrying baskets, dancing. It also shows manillas, figures of primitive animals (alligator, turtle, snake, and fish), and leaves in underprint. The note’s reverse also bears a Quick Recognition Code (QR Code), the coat of arms of Nigeria, and cowrie shells. The note measures 151 x 78 mm and bears a Motion windowed security thread with the Nigerian flag and 100. It also contains a watermark that reveals Chief Abafemi Awolowo and electrotype 100 CBN. This commemorative banknote is in uncirculated condition.
