The Burundi 10,000 Francs Banknote was issued by the Bank of the Republic of Burundi in 2018. The yellow banknote bears French and Kirundi texts. Its obverse features a hippopotamus, the coat of arms of Burundi, and portraits of President Melchior Ndadaye and Prince Louis Rwagasore. It also shows a flag, a shield, and a green-to-gold OVI drum with an embossed BRB. The reverse depicts a map outline of Burundi, fronds, fish, and the bank logo. The banknote contains a pearlescent stripe on the front with a vertical 10000, a pearlescent overprint on the back with a flag and 10000 / BRB. It also contains a windowed security thread with demetalilzed head of heifer, stars, and BRB. Its watermark reveals Prince Louis Rwagasore and an electrotype BRB. The banknote is 144 x 72 mm in size and signed by Jean Gaspard Ciza and Melchior Wagara. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition.
